A Dillard man was jailed following an alleged strangulation incident on Monday.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 7:00 a.m. a deputy responded to a disturbance in the 9,000 block of Old Highway 99 South. A victim said that during a verbal altercation, she struck a 51-year old man in the face with a closed fist.

The victim said the man then grabbed her by the throat and squeezed until she could not breath. The report said the victim had injuries consistent with being strangled. The man was charged with strangulation and harassment. Bail was set at $8,750.
