NEW GIRAFFE JOINS WILDLIFE SAFARI

A new giraffe has joined the family of animals at Wildlife Safari.

Marketing Director Jacob Schlueter from the game park in Winston said three- year old Konza came from the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center in Kansas.

General Curator Dan Brands said, “New giraffes at the park means new genetics at the park to help our breeding program”. Brands said they are always excited to participate in national programs that allow them to ensure the ongoing survival of species’ nationwide.

Executive Director Dan Van Slyke said everyone loves to see new animals. He said, “from baby cheetahs, to the new coati in the Safari Village, a beautiful cape eland in the drive through, to a member of the giraffe family, people love these new animals and people love babies, so Konza will be a big hit at the park, as will his offspring”.

Schlueter said that Konza joined giraffes Miya, Erin and Margie in the giraffe yard of Wildlife Safari on Thursday
