April 23, 2021 9:40 a.m.

The deadline to be registered to vote in the upcoming Special Districts Election is approaching.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said those who want to participate must by registered by Tuesday. Loomis said Oregon residents who have a valid driver’s license, permit or DMV-issued ID card, can register on the Oregon Secretary of State’s website: https://sos.oregon.gov/voting-elections/Pages/default.aspx.

Loomis said the same link can be used to check registration status, change address, or to change political parties. Citizens without a license, permit or DMV card, need to get an Oregon Voter Registration Card from the Post Office or Clerk’s Office and return it to the courthouse after it is filled out.

The Special Districts Election is May 18th and ballots will be going out soon.
