ROSEBURG HOMETOWN FIREWORKS SHOW CANCELED FOR 2021

The Roseburg Hometown Fireworks show has been canceled for 2021.

A release on the non-profit’s Facebook page, said with COVID-19 restrictions still in effect, and being unable to secure a Covid friendly location for launching the show, “we have no choice but to cancel”. The post said the organization’s request to use either Reservoir Hill or the Roseburg Regional Airport have both been denied.

The group said Stewart Park or the Douglas County Fairgrounds creates too much liability and logistics to deal with, given COVID restrictions and trying to see the show from further away.

The post said, “We hope that 2022 brings us more back to normal where we can all gather and celebrate our nation’s independence”. The group is encouraging residents to view the county’s other celebrations in Winston, Riddle or Yoncalla.

The organization is still accepting donations for future shows. Their goal is to raise $30,000 for the 2022 show.
