Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at approximately 2:15 p.m. a vehicle was called in for speeding and driving sideways in the area of the 200 block of Pickett Lane, near Canyonville. The report said video of the incident showed that the vehicle was going 60 to 70 miles per hour and was sliding sideways on the gravel road. A female driver got out and the male passenger took over the driving.
The deputy got the license plate number from the video and contacted both people, who admitted to the incident. A 53-year old woman was charged with reckless driving and for failure to perform the duties of a driver. Bail was set at $12,500. The 65-year old man was cited and released from custody.
