April 16, 2021 3:50 a.m.

Online registration is now open for the 2021-22 school year for Roseburg Public Schools.

Assistant Superintendent Michelle Knee said all new, returning, and re-enrolling students will be required to register online for in-person school, the district’s new Roseburg Virtual School for grades K-5, and the online school option for grades 6-12.

Knee said that families are encouraged to begin updating their student’s enrollment information immediately. Online registration guides, documents and parent portal access can be found at: https://www.roseburg.k12.or.us/families/registration.

Knee said that staff is looking forward to helping current students and new students adjust and thrive, “…as we move beyond the challenges presented by the pandemic”. Knee said in overcoming those obstacles there have been many opportunities to grow and improve the ways that students are served. She said, “…we will return next year even stronger”.

A release said that during the registration process, students in grades K-5 will have the choice to register for Roseburg Virtual School, which allows younger students to learn at their own pace from home with the assistance of licensed, highly qualified Roseburg Public School teachers.

Students who register online for Jo Lane Middle School, Fremont Middle School or Roseburg High School will be able to find a one-page application for the district’s new online option for secondary schools near the end of the online registration process, as well as on the district’s registration website.

The release said that based on the trajectory of the pandemic and the latest guidance from the Oregon Department of Education, the district expects that students who choose traditional school will be able to return to in-person learning full time.
