A Roseburg man was jailed, released and then cited seven hours later, by Roseburg Police on Monday.

An RPD report said they have received numerous complaints regarding issues at Templin Beach Park. During a foot patrol at 3:00 p.m. officers contacted a 42-year old man and a 48-year old woman who were both found to have warrants. They were jailed and then released later.

At 10:00 p.m. the 42-year old was contacted again, this time with a different woman, as they allegedly had an open fire burning at the park. The pair had already been contacted and told the fire was not allowed. When the Roseburg Fire Department arrived to extinguish the fire, the pair would not allow them to do so.

The report said the fire was eventually extinguished. The man and the woman, age 48, were both cited for prohibited burning. The man admitted it was dangerous to have an open fire under the tree, and said they wouldn’t do so again.
