An Astoria woman was jailed on drug charges by the Myrtle Creek Police on Monday.

Detective Kevin Taggart said at 1:00 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Johnson Street for a traffic violation. When the vehicle stopped, the driver, 34-year old Kelly Cummings, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. It was discovered that the woman had a warrant. Taggart said Cummings was located behind a house and was taken into custody.

While at the jail, a deputy located narcotics on the suspect’s person. Over 16 grams of methamphetamine and over 5 grams of heroin were allegedly found. Cummings was charged with unlawful possession and delivery of both drugs, and for a parole violation. She was detained without bail.
