Roseburg Public Schools is now accepting preschool applications for the 2021-2022 school year.

RPS Early Learning Facilitator Tatum Stedman said all families living within the district boundaries are encouraged to apply now for their child to be considered for placement in the program. Stedman said to be eligible, children must turn 4 years old on or before September 1st. Families will receive notification regarding potential placements on or before June 11th.

Applications will remain open throughout the upcoming school year. After May 2nd, applicants will be added to a waitlist and those at the top of that list will be contacted if slots become available.

Preschool is offered throughout the district at three sites, including Eastwood, Winchester and Green elementary schools. The program offers morning or afternoon sessions four days a week, with no school on Wednesdays. There is no cost to attend.

Stedman said Roseburg Pre-K provides a high-quality early learning program that aligns with both the Oregon Early Learning Guidelines and the school district’s K-12 system to ensure positive outcomes and a smoother kindergarten transition.
