HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR, SECOND DAY IN A ROW

Roseburg had the hottest day of the year, for the second day in a row, on Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 77 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. It was 76 degrees on Wednesday. Thursdays high was only a degree shy of the record for the date. That was 78 degrees, which was set in 1944, 2000 and 2016.

Medford got to 78 degrees on Thursday. That gave both cities the distinction of being the warmest locations in Oregon, for the second day in a row. Highs are expected to drop to around 70 degrees for Friday and Saturday, and decrease by another ten degrees for Sunday.
