MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING DUII INJURY ACCIDENT

A Roseburg man was arrested following an injury DUII Crash on Tuesday night.

Sergeant Brad O’Dell from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 9:20 p.m. dispatcher received reports of a single vehicle crash in the 9,000 block of Old Highway 99 South near Dillard. O’Dell said when deputies arrived on the scene, they found a pickup in a ditch. The driver, 35-year old Jesse Gardner, had been traveling south when he drifted off the roadway and into a ditch, coming to rest in a culvert.

O’Dell said fire and EMS crews extricated a female passenger, 46-year old Amber Taylor of Eugene, and transported her to CHI Mercy Medical Center. She is listed in serious condition according to a hospital spokesperson. Gardner was also taken to Mercy, where he was treated and released.

Deputies conducted a follow up investigation and charged Gardner with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering and assault. Due to his injuries and condition, he was cited and released at the hospital.
