Aviva Health is holding another COVID-19 mass vaccination event on Thursday.

A release said it is for residents age 45 and over with underlying conditions, who live in the north part of the county. The event will be held at the Drain Civic Center from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Event organizers hope to vaccinate as many as 150 residents who are currently eligible for the vaccine, and live in and around Elkton, Yoncalla and Drain.

Aviva CEO KC Bolton said the vaccine delivery has increased to the county and they have gained resources like transportable vaccine refrigerators to make events like this possible. The large-scale effort to vaccinate the community again involves a number of other agencies including the Douglas County Commissioners, COVID-19 Response Team, and Douglas Public Health Network.
