The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a woman following a reported stabbing in Days Creek on Tuesday.
The DCSO report said at 12:10 a.m. deputies responded to the 100 block of Klooster Lane and were advised that 56-year old Zarie Smith had stabbed a victim in the forearm after a verbal disturbance. The report said the victim had a small cut and said they had been stabbed with a steak knife. The suspect then locked herself in an RV that was located outside the main residence.
After negotiating with Smith, she eventually exited the RV and was taken into custody. The knife was seized as evidence.
Smith was charged with second degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and for menacing. Bail was set at $306,250.
