A Roseburg man was jailed in an alleged burglary case early Monday.
A report from the Roseburg Police said at about 4:45 a.m. officers were called to a home in the 1100 block of Southeast Pine after the resident arrived to find 37-year old Mars Ulra inside.
The report said the suspect refused to leave. The resident told officers the man was an acquaintance but had never been to her home before. She believed he entered through an unlocked back door.
The house was allegedly disheveled with items strewn about, cigarettes rolled, and rum that had been open and drank. The resident believed Ulra did all of that as she had been home four hours earlier and everything was cleaned up at that time.
The report said while Ulra remained in the residence, he allegedly grabbed the woman’s backpack and put it on his back, saying that it belonged to him. Once the backpack was recovered, paperwork inside proved it belonged to the resident.
Ulra was charged with first-degree burglary and for third-degree theft. Bail was set at $251,250.
