Roseburg Police jailed a man for a felony count of strangulation on Friday night.

The RPD report said during a previous argument, 25-year old Matthew Mendoza held the victim in a rear naked chokehold until she passed out. The report said the victim reported the incident Friday and Mendoza admitted to the crime. He was taken into custody at 10:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of Southeast Hawthorne.

He was detained on $50,000 bail.
