A Roseburg man was jailed for allegedly pointing a firearm at an employee of KFC on Sunday, over the price of chicken at the business.

A Roseburg Police report said at 4:00 p.m. officers responded to the store on West Harvard. They contacted 46-year old David Miller and tried to talk to him, but the man drove away from the scene. The report said Miller’s pickup crossed Harvard without stopping. He allegedly drove through stop signs at a high rate of speed and eventually stopped and parked his vehicle at a residence in the 700 block of West Ballf Street.

During the investigation, officers learned Miller had two firearms inside the vehicle, which were seized as evidence. A passenger was passed out in the vehicle as well. Witnesses confirmed that the suspect pointed the firearm while using the drive-through window.

After a standoff involving officers from RPD and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Miller was eventually taken into custody. Charges included pointing a firearm at another, menacing, attempting to elude police and for DUII. Bail was set at $72,500.

The report said an investigation is continuing, and additional charges may be added.
