In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Umpqua Actors Community Theatre will have its annual youth talent competition beginning Monday.
All Douglas County students grades 1-12 can participate digitally. To enter students can send a video, three minutes or less in length, showing themselves singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, doing a comedy routine, performing magic, creating pottery, of anything else.
Solo performances are encouraged because of social distancing. Those who enter will be separated into three groups:
*Grades 1-4
*Grades 5-8
*Grades 9-12
Cash prizes will be given in each category. The first-place winner receives $150. Second-place gets $100. Third-place receives $50. Fourth-place gets $25. Out of all the acts submitted, there will be one $250 grand prize winner.
