A Roseburg Police K9 helped to capture a man who was hiding from authorities on Wednesday afternoon.
Information from RPD said just before 3:00 p.m. a 27-year old man was a passenger in a suspicious car at a business in the 1500 block of Southeast Stephens. When an officer went to contact him, the man allegedly walked away from the vehicle, avoiding the officer. The report said when an officer found the suspect again, the man took off running before hiding in the 1500 block of Southeast Pine.
The report said officers set up a perimeter and K9 Axel responded for a track. The suspect was found behind a house, but ran away again before being taken into custody.
The man was detained for an Oregon State Parole Board Warrant.
