March 18, 2021 10:30 a.m.

The Oregon Department of Revenue is joining the Internal Revenue Service and extending the income tax filing deadline for the 2020 tax year, from April 15th to May 17th.

A release said individual taxpayers can also postpone state income tax payments for the 2020 tax year to the new date, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed. This also applies to those who pay self-employment tax. Penalties and interest will begin to accrue on any unpaid balances as of May 18th, 2021.
