The Roseburg Fire Department will begin flushing fire hydrants April 1st.
Assistant Chief Merrill Gonterman said hydrant flushing will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week. Gonterman said the flushing program is necessary to ensure proper functioning and delivery of adequate water from the water mains when needed for fire control.
During the flushing process, customers may experience low water pressure or discolored water. While the water is safe to drink, customers may prefer to wait until it runs clear before drinking or washing clothes and dishes.
Contact the Roseburg Fire Department at 492-6770 for more information.
Hydrant flushing will continue through June 30th.
