A transient was jailed for an alleged theft and disturbance in the Green District on Monday night.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at around 6:00 p.m. 34-year old Dillion Johnson allegedly stole over $300 in groceries from a business in the 400 block of Carnes Road. The report said the suspect loaded the groceries into the back of a bystander’s vehicle. The owner confronted Johnson because she did not know who he was. Johnson allegedly hit the woman in the face and she responded by knocking him to the ground.
