A former Roseburg area man remains jailed, accused of murder in the recent stabbing death of a man in Laughlin, Nevada, but few additional details have come out.

A release from the Nevada Department of Public Safety said 20-year old Ethan Bright was arrested following the death of 35-year old Oscar Martinez on March 2nd. Kim Smith of the NDPS told News Radio 1240 KQEN that while Bright had previously lived in Oregon, he had been in Nevada for a period of time, and resided at the home where the crime took place. It was in the Desert Springs senior housing community on Fort Mojave Indian Tribal Land.

Smith said the victim died of multiple stab wounds. She told KQEN that information regarding whether the suspect and the victim had a prior relationship was not available.

At least one Nevada media outlet indicated that an out of state fugitive connected to the crime was being sought, but Smith told KQEN that information was also not available.

Bright faces a court hearing on Thursday, according to information obtained by the News Review. His formal charge is open murder with an enhanced deadly weapon. He is being held at the Clark County Nevada Detention Center, without bail.
