A Glide man was jailed after an alleged child neglect incident on Thursday.

Information from Roseburg Police said at about 9:15 p.m. officers responded to the Fred Meyer parking lot on Garden Valley Boulevard following a report that two juveniles had been left alone inside a vehicle.

An officer found two children, ages 3 and 7 that were left unattended in the vehicle. The 41-year old father exited the store a short time later. He reportedly told the officer that he did not think it was an issue for the children to be left in the vehicle and did not see the dangers. He was charged with second degree child neglect and taken to jail. He was released later in the evening.
