MAN JAILED ON 21 CHARGES IN ALLEGED FORGERY INCIDENTS

A Roseburg man was jailed Monday on 21 charges connected to alleged forgery incidents.

A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said that 41-year Shannon Jones reportedly drove to two Umpqua Bank locations in Roseburg and cashed and attempted to cash two blank checks from a victim’s account. The report said the suspect cashed the first check for $900 and drove to another branch where he tried to cash another check.

Jones was charged with being a felon in possession of a forged instrument, five counts of mail theft, four counts of identity theft, two counts each of computer crime and third-degree theft, two counts of second-degree theft and for warrants. Bail was set at $272,500.
