A Roseburg man was jailed for three warrants that were out for his arrest, for failing to register as a sex offender, and for other charges, on Wednesday afternoon.
A report from Myrtle Creek Police said a just before 12:30 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle at the Myrtle Creek exit on Interstate Five for having an expired registration. The report said the driver, 39-year old Michael Schwender, initially provided false information about his identity but eventually told the officer who he really was. He had also not reported for his sex offender registration since 2019.
Charges also included driving uninsured, driving while suspended, failure to carry and present, and for providing false information. He was held on $55,000 bail.
