Roseburg Police jailed a man for violating a restraining order and cited him for a drug violation, on Tuesday.
Information from Roseburg Police said at about 2:45 p.m. an officer responded to a report of the 32-year old standing on the railing of the Washington Street Bridge. A caller said it appeared the man was going to jump into the river. An officer contacted the man who said he not suicidal and was just trying to look at the fish in the river.
While that conversation was going on, a county unit called and requested that the man be arrested for a restraining order violation. The man was taken into custody. It was later discovered the suspect had .33 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.
The man was held on $5,000 bail.
