A Roseburg man was jailed after escaping from police on Tuesday.

A report from the Roseburg Police said at 5:30 p.m. the 31-year old was contacted on Northeast Stephens Street across from Housley for trespassing at D.C. Farmers Co-Op. Once officers confirmed there was a warrant out for his arrest the suspect was told he was under arrest.

The report said at that time the man took off running eastbound across Northeast Stephens. An officer attempted to tase the man without success. The man cut through a yard of a residence and backtracked to Northeast Edenbower where he ran through the intersection of Northeast Stephens and Edenbower before finally being caught by a nearby medical facility.

He was charged with the warrant and for a number of other charges.
