Crews with Pacific Power have restored service to 18,000 customers in the Portland and Willamette Valley areas.

A release from the utility said nearly 360 Pacific Power employees and contractors continue to assess and repair damage caused by a series of storms that have brought heavy ice and snow to the region. An additional 75 personnel from Rocky Mountain Power, MidAmerican Energy and Nevada Energy, along with other regional utilities, are joining the effort.

At times during the past few days, upwards of 80,000 Pacific Power customers from across the Willamette Valley up to Portland and along the north coast experienced service disruption due to the destructive storms. As of Monday night, that total had dropped to 28,000 customers.

Governor Kate Brown’s office said as many as 330,000 people served by various utilities were without power at the height of the storm
