A student at Hucrest Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19.

Superintendent Jared Cordon of Roseburg Public Schools said the district is working closely with the Douglas Public Health Network to respond to the news and protect the health of the school community.

Cordon said after contact tracing, DPHN has determined that one class will need to quarantine. The individuals have been contacted and are at home self-isolating and monitoring for symptoms.

Students who are in quarantine will transition temporarily to remote learning. District staff will provide families with technology devices.
