WOMAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER SUNDAY WRECK

A 23-year old Roseburg woman was hospitalized following a single vehicle wreck on Sunday.

A report from Oregon State Police said at about 11:45 a.m. a 24-year old man was driving west bound on Highway 42 a couple miles west of the Douglas/Coos county line when he lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed. The report said the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The passenger was reclining when the accident took place. Due to improper seat belt use, she struck her head on the windshield and was transported to the hospital with minor head injuries.
