PRESIDENT’S DAY CLOSURES

February 15, 2021 3:40 a.m.

Monday is President’s Day and that means there are a number of closures.

Federal, state, county, and city offices are closed. No regular mail will be delivered. Schools are closed. Banks and credit unions will not be open. Many professional offices are closed though retail stores remain open.

Originally established in 1879 to honor George Washington’s birthday on February 22nd, the third Monday of February became President’s Day in 1971 as part of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, to give federal workers more three-day weekends.
