Douglas County Government will close on Monday for President’s Day.

A release from the Board of Commissioners said that includes the Courthouse, Justice Building, County Annex in Reedsport, Douglas County Museum, the landfill and transfer stations, the fairgrounds and all external county offices.

The release said many officials and public employees will still be working. That includes some staff with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team, along with County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer.

Washington’s Birthday is a United States federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February. The day is now widely referred to as President’s Day to honor all who have served as president, not just George Washington.
