MAN HURT AFTER TRYING TO FLEE POLICE, ON A BICYCLE

A Roseburg man was hurt after trying to flee from police, on a bicycle Friday night.

A report from Roseburg Police said at about 10:30 p.m. an officer tried to stop the 30-year old in the parking lot of the National Guard Armory on General, where he was trespassing. The report said the man did not comply with the officer’s commands and attempted to get away on his bike. The man crashed the bike into a ditch, sustaining an injury to his wrist. He was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center via ambulance.

Charges included interfering with a peace officer, second-degree criminal trespass, third-degree escape and for a failure to appear warrant. He was cited and released.
