Oregon Senate Republicans are calling for schools in the state to reopen.

A release said several weeks ago, Governor Kate Brown said that schools would reopen by February 15th. The release said Brown “…even jumped vulnerable seniors in the vaccine list to make it happen”.

Senate Republican Leader Fred Girod said, “The science is coming into focus. Schools can reopen safely without teachers getting vaccinated”. He called on Brown to “…deliver on her promise to reopen schools”.

The release said President Biden’s Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Dr. Rochelle Walensky said recently, “the vaccination of teachers is not a prerequisite to the safe reopening of schools”.

Girod called on Brown to bring the teacher’s unions to the table and “…deliver on that promise”. He said Brown is the Superintendent of Oregon Schools, and “…she should act like it”.
