Governor Kate Brown said COVID-19 vaccinations for seniors will begin on Monday.

On Friday, Brown held a press conference to update Oregonians on the status of vaccinations. She was joined by Oregon Health Authority Director Pat Allen and State Epidemiologist Dr. Dean Sidelinger.

Brown said statewide vaccinations of seniors living independently will start with those age 80 and older. She said signing up for an appointment will look differently based on the community and healthcare provider.

Starting Monday, https://covidvaccine.oregon.gov/ will include a new tool called “Get Vaccinated Oregon” to help people determine eligibility and to sign up for email alerts and text notifications when they become eligible. Seniors living independently can also call 2-1-1 for information. Brown said she has deployed 30 additional members of the Oregon National Guard to help staff the call center.
