23 MORE POSITIVE TEST RESULTS FOR COVID-19, 1 PRESUMPTIVE NOW POSITIVE

23 more people have received new positive test results for COVID-19 in Douglas County, and 1 presumptive case has moved to positive with a positive test result, as of Friday.

An update from the Douglas County COVID-19 Response Team said the total number of cases is now at 1,954. Of those, 1,853 are people that have received positive results and 101 are presumptive. There have been 48 deaths. 8 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 5 locally and 3 outside the area. 140 are in isolation. 273 people are in quarantine. That means the staff with the Douglas Public Health Network are supporting 413 people that are either in isolation or quarantine.

The update said starting on Monday, those over 80-years-of-age will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. DPHN is expecting that the county will only receive 700 doses of vaccine next week. DPHN said seniors should plan on getting the vaccine where they get their regular health care or flu vaccine. Contact medical providers for more information.
