COVID-19 CLAIMS 23 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,981 AS OF TUESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 23 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,981 as of Tuesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 619 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 143,978. The new cases include:

*135 in Multnomah County

*64 in Washington County

*59 in Clackamas County

*54 in Jackson County

*42 in Marion County

*32 in Lane County

*25 in Umatilla County

*23 in Josephine County

*21 in Polk County

*18 each in Deschutes and Klamath counties

*16 in Benton County

*15 in Douglas County

*10 each in Coos, Linn and Yamhill counties

*9 in Union County

*8 in Clatsop County

*7 in Hood River County

*5 each in Jefferson, Lincoln and Malheur counties

*4 in Wasco County

*3 each in Crook, Harney, Lake, Sherman and Wallowa counties

*2 each in Baker, Columbia, Curry, and Tillamook counties

*1 in Morrow County

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 262, which is 9 fewer than on Monday. There are 61 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 3 fewer than on Monday.

OHA reported that 15,967 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 10,712 doses were administered on Monday. 5,255 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Monday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 454,246 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 696,100 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
