February 2, 2021 4:40 p.m.

A second person has tested positive for COVID-19 at Green Elementary School.

Roseburg Public Schools Superintendent Jared Cordon said the district was notified on Tuesday that a student had received a positive test. Cordon said the district is working closely with the Douglas Public Health Network to respond to the news and protect the health of the school community.

Individuals who may have been exposed have been contacted and are at home self-isolating and monitoring for symptoms. Students who are in quarantine will temporarily transition to remote learning.

Cordon said in collaboration with DPHN, the district will continue to maintain protocols and guidelines established by the Oregon Department of Education and the Oregon Health Authority in the Ready Schools, Safe Learners plan.
