WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10:00 p.m. Tuesday through 4:00 p.m. Wednesday above 2,000 feet for a wide area of the region.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 1 to 4 inches of snow is expected at elevations between 2,000 and 3,000 feet with 4 to 10 inches at elevations above 3,000 feet. Winds will gust as high as 45 miles per hour.

The Advisory area includes central Douglas County, Josephine and Jackson counties, eastern Curry County, and the south-central Oregon Cascades including Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. Interstate Five passes between Canyonville and Sunny Valley may also be impacted.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
