A Roseburg man was jailed following a series of incidents that brought out Roseburg Police on Friday afternoon.

A report said at about 4:45 p.m. 29-year old Don Fortner was allegedly trespassing at the Buy 2 Market on Diamond Lake Boulevard. When an employee asked the suspect to leave, he reportedly stole muffins, torn them up and then threw them at the employee. The report said the man flashed his genitals to alarm the employee and made threatening, profane statements. He allegedly trespassed at another business in the area and was soon contacted by RPD.

The report said the man refused to be taken into custody and resisted arrest. He allegedly tried to hit and kick the officers and was pepper sprayed. That was ineffective so a taser was deployed and Fortner was detained. During the struggle, an officer received a minor injury. Once in custody the suspect reportedly spit all over the back of the police car.

Charges included assault on a public safety officer, resisting arrest, harassment, second degree counts of disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and criminal trespass and a third- degree count of theft. He was detained on $71,250 bail.
