A Roseburg man was jailed for unlawful possession of heroin and for a probation violation by Roseburg Police on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at about 5:30 p.m. the 22-year old was contacted in the 400 block of Umpqua after his probation officer wanted him detained for violating his probation conditions. The suspect was taken into custody and was allegedly found to be in possession of the drug.

He was detained without bail.
