RESOURCE DONATION DRIVE TO BENEFIT CHILD CARE PROGRAMS

The Douglas County Childcare Coalition is holding a resource donation drive to benefit local child care programs.

Julie Hurley, the Biz4Kids Program Coordinator for the Douglas Education Service District, said the group is asking for donations to help the programs off-set expenses. Supplies needed include:

*Bleach

*Surface cleaner

*Empty spray bottles

*Laundry detergent

*Paper towels

*Paper plates and bowls

*School supplies including pens, pencils, glue sticks, markers, crayons, and art and craft materials

The coalition was formed in response to the overall child care crisis in Douglas County. More than 30 local businesses, nonprofits, public and education sectors are included in the partnership.

ESD is handling the collection of donations on behalf of the coalition. Call Hurley at 957-9454 to schedule a donation delivery. Those sending monetary donations should make checks payable to the Douglas ESD/DC Childcare Coalition and mailed to the ESD attention Julie Hurley at 1871 Northeast Stephens in Roseburg, 97470.
