COVID-19 CLAIMS 24 MORE LIVES, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,832, AS OF WEDNESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 24 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,832, as of Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 637 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 135,142. The new cases include:

*99 in Multnomah County

*83 in Marion County

*60 in Washington County

*53 each in Lane and Umatilla counties

*38 each in Jackson and Deschutes counties

*36 in Clackamas County

*29 in Malheur County

*26 each in Linn and Yamhill counties

*21 in Benton County

*17 in Douglas County

*16 in Klamath County

*15 in Josephine County

*12 in Coos County

*7 each in Crook and Jefferson counties

*6 each in Clatsop, Hood River and Wasco counties

*4 each in Lake, Lincoln and Morrow counties

*3 each in Baker and Harney counties

*2 in Tillamook County

*1 in Wallowa County

The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 336, which is 8 more than on Tuesday. There are 90 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 fewer than on Tuesday.

On Wednesday OHA reported that 13,694 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of that total, 8,570 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday and 5,124 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Tuesday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 238,760 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 436,250 doses of vaccine have been delivered to sites across Oregon.
