MAN TREATED AFTER STABBING IN MILLSITE PARK

A 40-year old man was treated after a stabbing in Millsite Park in Myrtle Creek.

Detective Kevin Taggart of the Myrtle Creek Police said the stabbing was reported just before 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. The 40-year old man told police he was near the park’s bandshell when he was approached by two men. The victim said an argument ensued and he was stabbed twice in the abdomen. The two suspects left on foot. Taggart said a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was deployed but the suspects were not located.

The victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Taggart said the incident is an active investigation and no other information will be released at this time. MCPD was also assisted by Oregon State Police and Roseburg Police.
