COVID-19 CLAIMS 5 MORE LIVES, RAISING THE STATE’S DEATH TOLL 1,808, AS OF TUESDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 5 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 1,808, as of Tuesday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 637 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 134,468. The new cases include:

*125 in Multnomah County

*76 in Washington County

*71 in Lane County

*67 in Marion County

*63 in Clackamas County

*41 in Jackson County

*37 in Deschutes County

*27 in Josephine County

*25 in Klamath County

*16 in Benton County

*14 in Polk County

*13 in Umatilla County

*12 in Yamhill County

*7 in Linn County

*5 each in Douglas, Baker and Columbia counties

*4 each in Union and Wasco counties

*3 in Coos County

*2 each in Crook, Jefferson and Morrow counties

*1 each in Clatsop, Hood River and Tillamook counties

The new deaths ranged in age from 65 to 91. 2 lived in Washington County. 1 each lived in Deschutes, Josephine and Lane counties

The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 328, which is 14 fewer than on Monday. There are 92 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 2 fewer than on Monday.

OHA reported that 8,141 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state registry on Tuesday. Of this total, 5,511 vaccine doses were administered on Monday. 2,630 were administered on previous days but entered into the vaccine registry on Monday.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 225,066 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
