COVID-19 CLAIMS 1 MORE LIFE, STATE DEATH TOLL AT 1,800 AS OF SUNDAY

COVID-19 has claimed 1 more life, raising the state’s death toll to 1,800, as of Sunday.

An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 799 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 133,205. The new cases include:

*131 in Washington County

*102 in Multnomah County

*86 in Marion County

*66 in Clackamas County

*57 in Umatilla County

*53 in Lane County

*46 in Deschutes County

*34 in Polk County

*30 each in Jackson and Josephine counties

*20 in Yamhill County

*16 in Clatsop County

*15 in Jefferson County

*12 in Benton County

*11 in Douglas County

*10 each in Columbia and Union counties

*8 in Wasco County

*7 each in Linn and Malheur counties

*6 each in Crook, Curry, Klamath and Lincoln counties

*5 each in Coos and Morrow counties

*3 each in Gilliam, Hood River and Tillamook counties

*2 each in Baker and Harney counties

*1 in Lake County

Oregon’s 1,800th COVID-19 death is a 74-year old woman in Jackson County who tested positive on December 6th and died December 25th.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 361, which is 4 fewer than on Saturday. There are 95 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 3 more than on Saturday.

On Sunday, OHA reported that 15,784 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added to the state immunization registry. Of this total, 12,781 vaccine doses were administered on January 16th.

Oregon has now administered a cumulative total of 204,974 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
