Two people were arrested by Roseburg Police on Wednesday in connection with an alleged menacing incident that took place the previous night. An RPD report said the initial incident involved 27-year old Alexander Smith as the suspect. Smith reportedly ran from officers while the actions of a 58-year old woman prevented officers from conducting their investigation.
Wednesday just before 3:00 p.m. both subjects reportedly fought with officers in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson and were uncooperative during the ensuing investigation. Smith also had several warrants for his arrest.
Smith was charged with resisting arrest, interfering with a peace officer, menacing, second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree escape. Bail was set at $23,750.
The woman was charged with interfering with a peace officer and for resisting arrest. She was held on $12,500.
