A local World War II veteran is turning 100 on Thursday, and staff with the Roseburg Police worked to honor the man a day early.

Sergeant Jeff Eichenbusch said John Couch currently resides at Bridgewood Rivers Assisted Living in Roseburg. On Wednesday, a vehicle processional took place with representatives from the Roseburg Police and Fire departments, the Oregon Army National Guard’s Charlie Company, and several of Couch’s friends.

Eichenbusch said the group wanted to wish Mr. Couch a happy birthday and thank him for his service to our country.
