FLOOD POTENTIAL OUTLOOK UPDATED

The National Weather Service has updated the Flood Potential Outlook for western Douglas County and nearby areas.

Forecasters said a front will stall over the area Tuesday night. It will then weaken in place on Wednesday. This will bring a prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain. Small streams and creeks will see rapid rises during this event. Mainstem rivers will see significant rises as well.

The Outlook areas also include western Josephine County and the eastern portions of Curry and Coos counties.

Widespread flooding is not anticipated, but some smaller streams may create minor flooding in some locations. Recently burned areas may see some flooding and debris flows with this event.

A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of western Coos and Curry counties, including the Coquille River at Coquille.
