A 29-year old man was arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office after being accused of attempting to assault a peace officer on Saturday.

The DCSO report said at about 2:20 p.m. Bobby Robinson was reported as being possibly suicidal in the 1,000 block of Riddle Bypass Road in Riddle, after allegedly attempting to jump into traffic. A deputy talked with the man who said he was not suicidal. The man was observed for a long time and did not get into the road.

Robinson was called in two additional times over the next two hours for jumping in front of cars. When a deputy tried to put the suspect in handcuffs, he allegedly locked his arms in front and tried to head butt another deputy. Deputies struggled to get the man into custody, but he continued to resist. Robinson was eventually detained after a taser was deployed.

Robinson was charged with resisting arrest, attempted assault on a peace officer and for second degree disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $15,000.
